An 18-year-old man was arrested in east Delhi for allegedly snatching cellphones to buy costly items for his girlfriend, police stated on Monday.
The accused has been recognized as Kaif, a resident of Sunder Nagari in Delhi. In response to police, on Thursday, he alongside along with his pal snatched one Vaibhav Jha’s cellphone whereas he was on a name and fled away. They had been using on a scooter.
On Friday, police laid a entice after receiving a tip-off that Kaif would come close to Sunder Nagari to promote the snatched cell phone. They arrested him as quickly as he was noticed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena stated.
Kaif disclosed that his girlfriend is fond of pricey items which is why he used to grab telephones from pedestrians within the Shahdara and northeast Delhi space to promote them to an unknown individual at a very good fee, police stated.
Two cellphones and one scooter had been recovered from his possession, police added.
