A 22-year-old engineering scholar was arrested on Wednesday over the loss of life of a four-year-old boy in Odisha’s Ganjam district, police stated.
The boy was present in blood on the terrace of his neighbour’s home on Tuesday.
As per preliminary investigation, the engineering scholar had sexually assaulted the boy and fearing arrest, smashed the boy’s head with an iron door of the under-construction home, a police officer stated.
The accused fled the world after the incident and he was arrested close to Aska, its SDPO Uma Shankar Singh stated.
He stated the precise explanation for the loss of life might be ascertained solely after getting the autopsy report.
