Safari on macOS presents web page translations for almost any language I throw at it. Chinese language, Japanese, Spanish, French.
However not Korean.
This conduct is unusual. On iOS 16, Safari will translate Korean pages inherently. That is with out the necessity for Microsoft Translator to be put in.
And system-wide translation on macOS works effective for Korean. I can spotlight any textual content in any app, and by context-menu the usual Apple translation menu will pop-up and performance. Actually the one factor that would not work is web site translation, in macOS, in Safari, for Korean.
- I believed maybe me being bodily situated in Korea was associated. However VPNs return the identical outcome. Similar for a good friend in bodily in USA. Korean is rarely translated.
- I believed possibly my language settings have been guilty. However having Korean within the “Most popular Languages” dialog, — or having it removed–, has no impact.
- I believed the online pages itself have been wrongly encoded. However I’ve tried at the very least 50 totally different Korean web sites, checking many examples of HTML lang tags. No selection triggers Safari translations.
- I believed my area settings is likely to be guilty. Set it to USA, set it to Korea, all the identical: no supplied translation.
I can not work out what is going on on. Why does Apple appear to help Korean translation for macOS system-wide translation, for iOS full web site translation, and each different language for translation, besides Korean, and solely on this explicit utilization?
I am open to any options or suggestions. I have already got Chrome and Whale put in, and do use them for auto-translations. No issues there. It’d simply be good to have the ability to use Safari.
